You are the road of love and at the end, my home.

I put this little group of paintings on Facebook and directly above it the quote from Rumi above appeared, on a friends news-feed, she shared that with me and I’m sharing it with you. Its a perfect match for these paintings.

Inspired by words. Rumi

You are the road of love and at the end, my home.

Inspired by the poem I Dream’d I Lay

Kathy Dutton inspired by the poem I Dream’d I Lay from which Kathy will read extracts on Friday. The poem is about a bright and sunny daydream, during the winter months, in Rabbie Burns poem he feels cheated.

I feel we need to find those moments and hold onto them, to generate inner sunshine during the dark winter nights. I create positive visualisations and inspire myself to move into the lighter side of me.

WOW – Women of the World Festival

Reflections on the Garden – Kathleen & Jennifer Dutton  15th – 28th February 2013

On the occasion of the 2013 International Women’s Day and WOW – Women of the World at the ‘Southbank’  Skylark Artists, fellow artists and sisters Jennifer Dutton and Kathleen Dutton  are Featured at Skylark Galleries.
These two artists engage with issues such as life, growth, and their work as told through the idea of the garden being a reflection of their inner worlds.
Ranging from the structure and the history of Jennifer Dutton’s Lino Prints and Kathleen Dutton’s  paintings capturing her vision of the light garden: the imagery here acts as a means of thinking about the ‘self’.
